Household books

Your household's money, on the record.

Hand your agent the bank and card statements. It keeps the accounts, the card, the mortgage and the car loan, the bills and the receipts, under rules: every balance traces to a statement or a figure you gave, nothing is assumed paid, and the decisions about your money stay yours.

The demo is a live sandbox with a made-up household in it: three months of statements, a credit card, a mortgage and a car loan. No account needed. No credit card, no trial clock; export or delete everything, any time.

Before you pay it twicehousehold
What's coming up this month?
ClaudeTen things in the next month, $6,149.83 together, against $28,140.39 in checking and savings. One looks wrong:PG&E's bill of $236.80 shows unpaid past its due date, well above the usual $150.20. But checking already paid exactly $236.80 to PG&E, three days before it was due.Did you pay it online? Approving it is yours; then I'll record the payment against that row.
What the rules keep straight

The things a household's money gets wrong

Suggestions come to you to confirm. Nothing is quietly decided behind your back.

Counted once

Paying the card from checking shows on both statements. The two sides are paired, so the move is neither spending nor income, and a refund comes off the purchase it reverses instead of looking like income.

Loans that tie to the lender

Each payment is split into principal, interest and escrow, as the lender printed it or by the schedule, and it says which. Record the lender's balance and it is checked against ours, to the cent.

Your money, your decision

Approving a bill and putting a vendor on autopay are refused to any agent, whatever its role. Your agent records what happened; nothing is assumed paid until a statement shows it.

Totals, not advice

Tag what matters at tax time and the year sums it, names the receipts still missing, and gives interest paid and earned. What is deductible stays your accountant's call; there are no budgets telling you what to do.

See it work

Five short demos

Recorded live against a made-up household. Every record and refusal on screen is real output; nothing is a mockup. The playlist on YouTube.

Accounts and net worth

Statements that chain, the car's value with its source, and transfers counted once.

The credit card

What is due and when, a refund linked to the order it reverses, and what the card cost this year.

The mortgage and the car loan

The lender's statement, split as printed and tied to the cent, and interest paid this year.

Bills and what is due

Everything due against the cash, a bill already paid, and the approvals that stay yours.

Receipts and the year

Return and warranty dates, a work trip paid back, and the year as the record has it.

How it works

Three steps with Claude

Everything the agent records shows up in your browser too: same data, same rules, one audit trail.

You get your own private space for the household. Nothing to install, and nothing logs into your bank.

Add Saybooks to Claude as a connector

In the Claude app open Customize, Connectors, Add (or claude.ai/customize/connectors), paste the address below and continue. Claude sends you to sign in with Google and asks which books to open and what the agent may do: pick your household, leave owner, and you're connected. Revoke it any time under Share this space.

Start a session, attach a statement and paste this

You keep my household's books, connected to my Saybooks space through the "household" connector. Call core_schema first to learn the rules. Then add the account this statement belongs to, import it whole, and tell me what needs a word from me.

One statement per account to begin. From then on, just talk: "the mortgage statement came", "what is due this month?", "Acme paid my trip back".

Works with any agent that speaks MCP. In Claude Code: claude mcp add household -t http https://saybooks.io/mcp/household, then /mcp to sign in.

Your data, actually yours

Nothing touches your bank

  • Files are the boundaryNo bank feed and no bank password, by design. Your agent reads the statements you hand it, and a statement is taken whole when its rows add up to its printed balances, or refused with the gap named.
  • It never moves moneySaybooks records what happened. It never pays a bill, charges a card or sends anything; you stay the only one who does.
  • Export and deleteOne click downloads every table as one file, audit log included. One button permanently removes your space, its database and every access key.
  • Or keep it on your MacThe same books run in Saybooks for Mac, with a model on your own machine. Move them across any time.

The rules it keeps are written down and executed: the personal finances spec and the loans spec. Also free: invoicing for freelancers and a job-hunt tracker.
